I’m Marnie Johnston and I’ve been at The Northern Star for over four years now, first as a journalist, and now Digital Producer. But I don’t just work for our local newspaper - I’m also a local girl through and through, having grown up in the Lismore area, and studied at Southern Cross University. While I love Lismore and am always keen to be part of the positive aspects of our region, I’m still not quite sure why I’ve agreed to this challenge - which is sure to be fun, entertaining and probably embarrassing (on my end at least).
My main goal here is basically to just not fall on my face in front the whole town. I’ll be cheering if I manage to escape that fate.
I believe it’s our duty as citizens to give back wherever and whenever we can. I’ve been part of the Lismore City Lions Club for a number of years, serving the community through our projects, and have also been a part of a number of other fundraising ventures for the Lions Medical Research Foundation.
Being part of the Stars of Lismore - Dance For Cancer was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up (No matter how much my self-consciousness pleaded with me to do so).
